Barcelona marks Chinese New Year with a festive day on 4 February.

Celebrating Chinese New Year

Barcelona will be seeing in the year 1475, the Year of the Rooster. The city has consolidated the celebration of Chinese New Year, an act which is marked in numerous places around the globe and which in our city involves a joint celebration between the Chinese and the Catalan communities.

The celebration includes a parade in the Parc de l’Estació del Nord and a stage show in Pg. Lluís Companys. The parade will feature Chinese and Catalan dragons, lions, drummers, gralla pipe players, trabucaire blunderbuss groups, fairies, beasts and all sorts of other cultural representations. Afterwards, there will be a 90-minute show presented by Chinese and Catalan artists.
