Railway in the Parc del Castell de l’Oreneta

Ride on the trains and discover the Parc del Castell de l’Oreneta.

Railway in the Parc del Castell de l’Oreneta

Located in the upper part of the Sarrià neighbourhood, right next to the Pedralbes neighbourhood and just above the Ronda de Dalt ring road, the Parc del Castell de l’Oreneta is a large green site which connects the Collserola mountain range with the urban area of the city.

Apart from the castle which gives the park its name, the site is quite well-known for its miniature railway. The circuit is run by the Centre d’Estudis Modelisme Vapor de Barcelona, an association of enthusiasts of manned miniature railways and, in particular, steam trains. The circuit is 636 metres long, and no detail has been overlooked. Highlights include one of the oldest engines of this type in Europe. On Sunday mornings, except for August and public holidays, visitors can ride on the train and discover the secrets of the park.
