The Barcelona Half Marathon takes centre stage on the sporting scene on Sunday, 12 February, but at the same time the city plays host to a highly festive occasion. The event will have 26 points along the route for people to cheer runners on. Music groups, drummers and percussionists will all get behind those taking part, as will the public as they take to the streets to offer their support and take part in the festivities.

Florence Kiplagat, the world record holder at this distance, heads the list of elite athletes taking part in the eDreams Barcelona Half Marathon. Despite being a very difficult challenge, Kiplagat arrives in Barcelona with the aim of beating her own record and once again putting the name of the city in the world athletics spotlight.
