Santa Madrona, along with the Mare de Déu de La Mercè and Santa Eulàlia, is the co-patron of the city of Barcelona. As a way of promoting her image and links with the neighbourhood of El Raval, a series of activities are organised around her saint’s day on 15 March.

One of them is the popular culture festival, with takes place on 11 March. Giants, stick dancers and the neighbourhood’s local ox and cow figures will be hosting the sixth edition of the festival, which includes a parade with groups from all over Catalonia and a display using fire.
